Volkswagen is well on the way to getting its 5th “ID” model to the market and it will be known as the ID.6.

Due in the third quarter of 2023, the Passat sized ID6 sedan and wagon will have a range of 700km courtesy of an 84kWh battery pack on top models.

Single engined versions, driving from the rear, will hit the 0 to 100km/h sprint in 8.5 seconds. The all-wheel versions will cover this in 5.6 seconds.

The 84kWh battery pack will support 200kW charging, which will allow it to gain a 230km range in 10 minutes.

The ID.6 will be built at VW’s Eden plant in Germany. The Passat-sized car will offer roominess inside that is on par with the former upper luxury Phaeton. The number “6” in the “ID” is said to be for China where “6” means well-being.
