Mercedes to stun with top spec SL

Insiders say that the next Mercedes-Benz SL, due for launch in 2021, will include a new top model called the SL73e. This will sit above the SL43, SL53, SL55 and SL63. 

Apart from the top SL73e model rumoured to produce an almost unbelievable 600kW from a 4-litre twin turbo V8 with an electric motor, a second hybrid SL53e is planned with a 392kW 4-litre twin turbo with mild hybrid 48v technology.

Speaking of the SL, take a look at this SL500 Silver Arrow (above) from 2001. Only 1515 of these were produced and this one has only 142 miles from new and is ready for its first owner. This incredible example is part of Mercedes Benz Classic’s All Time Stars Collection and for sale for US$135,000 (NZ$220,000)  in Irvine, USA.
