The launch of the eagerly awaited Porsche Taycan electric Cross Turismo has been delayed a third time.

Originally due in late 2020 and then pushed to early 2021, the is now expected in summer 2021.

The fully electric Cross Turismo will have raised ground clearance, over and above the normal Taycan sedan, but won’t be a full sized SUV. That honour will go to the Macan, which will be produced in electric and petrol/diesel versions in a twin model strategy that is favoured now by Mercedes-Benz and BMW.

Supply chain problems in Europe due to covid restrictions are said to be the reason for the delay. With the Taycan sedan selling strongly, the push back at the launch of the “wagon” will be a blow for Porsche.

Meanwhile, a Cross Turismo final testing mule has racked up 998,361 testing kilometres last week.
