Audi has released official pictures of the beautiful A3 sedan. Whilst each new Audi has that “uh, that looks familiar” with common styling language, there’s no doubt the new A3 sedan looks fresh.

The A3 is not a major update over the last model. However, it does get a wider, taller and longer platform and also gets the same new interior and partially hybrid engines as the Sportback.

The slick 1.5-litre 111kW TFSI petrol with 48 volt partially hybrid technology will be a hit. Its party trick is that it can shut down its engine for up to 40 seconds, when driving off and coasting, delivering 11kW to keep it moving.

Other engines will include a 35TSI petrol with a six speed manual and a 2-litre TDi with a seven-speed automatic. Unusually all three engines make the same 111kW so pick your choice!
