With the COVID19 lockdown in place, now is the time to fulfil your dream of becoming a car designer, or better still, get your kids to create their ultimate vehicle, courtesy of the famous Petersen Automotive Museum in Los Angeles.

The museum is live streaming twice daily lectures for free on its website, including learning about engines and clay modelling.

It also has hands-on activities and educational tasks; from making your own license plate, to the history of the automobile, to building your own balloon car.

But that’s not all, due to COVID19 closures in Los Angeles, the Petersen museum is holding virtual one-hour tours of the museum vault that contains 250 special vehicles. The tour will allow you under the bonnet of some of the cars, and inside them.

Publishing magnate and philanthropist Robert E. Petersen and his wife Margie opened the Petersen Automotive Museum in 1994, to celebrate the entirety of automotive history, industry, culture, and artistry in Los Angeles.
