The motorbike charity event, Distinguished Gentleman's Ride (DGR), is set to take place in New Zealand on Sunday, May 18 with Triumph Motorcycles as the official partner for the 12th consecutive year.
The global iconic motorcycle event is renowned for bringing together motorcycle enthusiasts dressed in their finest attire to raise awareness for men’s health with Movember.
Triumph’s support plays a key role in building the event’s global reach and encouraging riders from all walks of life to participate.
“We knew we needed to do more for men’s health,” says Mark Hawwa, Founder of The Distinguished Gentleman’s Ride.
“That’s why we partnered with the world’s largest men’s health charity, Movember, and with Triumph Motorcycles. We are incredibly grateful for the ongoing support of all our partners and enabling us to support men’s health on a global scale, in supporting the critical causes of prostate cancer and men’s mental health. Together with our community, we are proud to continue riding dapper for men’s health.”
The 2024 DGR saw a big turnout in New Zealand for the charity event.
And as in previous years, the fundraising event isn’t just for men, women also dress in their finest riding outfits and take to the roads on their motorbikes.
Triumph Motorcycles NZ will publish social media content in the leadup to the event to help raise awareness and support local rides.
“As always, there are some incredible prizes being thrown in by sponsors such as Triumph for fundraisers worldwide with these set to be announced in the coming weeks,” said the brand.
The event takes place around New Zealand and you can sign up for the ride here.
About DGR: After inspiration from a photograph featuring classic suits and vintage motorcycles, Mark decided a themed ride would be a great way to combat the often-negative stereotype of motorcyclists and connect the global motorcycling community and to raise funds for a cause important to every rider.
The DGR has raised over US$45m (NZ$78.5m) since 2012.
