Will we get the Nissan 400Z?

Nissan recently launched a 50th anniversary 370Z, but it will be replaced by the 400Z. Photo: Nissan

Remember the beautiful Nissan 300Z of the early 1990’s?

I remember getting a ride in a friend’s parents’ one and thinking I was the bees knees. Fast forward to 2021 and we can expect to see the Nissan 400Z, which will replace the 370Z.

At the moment, the 370Z is only seen new in New Zealand via personal imports from Japan.

Whether the Nissan 400Z will come to New Zealand remains to be seen. That will hinge on whether a right-hand-drive version is produced. But what we do know is that it will use a twin-turbo V6 engine that is currently used in the Infiniti Q60.

It’s also likely Nissan would offer a manual version and sit the car on a rear-wheel-drive platform.
