Volkswagen Commercial New Zealand is abuzz with the news that the ID.Buzz electric van is arriving here in early 2025.

The ID. Buzz carries on from the iconic Kombi van, the favourite transportation for many Kiwis on their OE in Europe for decades.

And while the ID. Buzz pays homage to the Kombi, it’s set to create a new generation of fans.

The VW ID.Buzz is arriving in New Zealand in early 2025.

Kevin Richards, General Manager of Volkswagen New Zealand Commercial Vehicles, says the electric van is “designed as an ode to the classic Kombi, the all-new ID.Buzz embodies the spirit of adventure that has defined Volkswagen vehicles for decades.

“The Kombi became one of our greatest stories, filled with fond memories that Kiwis to this day hold close to their hearts. Fully reimagined, the ID.Buzz is an electric vehicle for future generations, and will continue to shape our legacy.”

VW Commercial is offering two models; the people-mover ID. Buzz and the ID.Buzz Cargo.

The ID.Buzz comes as 5, 6 or 7 seater.

The ID.Buzz offers 5, 6 or 7-seat options while the ID.Buzz Cargo has a 650kg payload and enough space to accommodate two Euro pallets.

Both models are already a global phenomenon, with the ID.Buzz Cargo won the prestigious industry prize "International Van of the Year 2023" (IVOTY) before its market launch.

Volkswagen New Zealand anticipates a similar reception locally with customers already registering their interest to find out more with specifications and pricing to be announced closer to the launch.
