Volkswagen NZ Commercial has announced the pricing and specification of the all-new electric ID. Buzz and ID. Buzz Cargo, starts from $114,990.

The ID. Buzz is a modern reimagined version of the iconic VW Kombi, which will not only provide a personal vehicle or business transportation.

The ID. Buzz offers flexible seating options with five, six or seven seat configurations while the ID. Buzz Cargo has up to 328km in electric range and 707kg payload.

The ID. Buzz can be a five to seven seater.

For Volkswagen Commercial Vehicles New Zealand General Manager Kevin Richards, the ID. Buzz “goes beyond the typical EV narrative”.

“Inspired by the Kombi design and built on decades of Volkswagen heritage, this isn’t just another van  – it’s an icon in the truest sense of the word,” said Richards.

“Evolving with the times yet staying faithful to the symbol of freedom we all know and love, the ID. Buzz captures the spirit of the past while embracing the future. So many Kiwis have stories from their past that centre around their love of the Kombi,  now they can write some new ones.”

The electric van is priced from $114,990.

Available in four variants – ID. Buzz Pro NWB, Pro LWB, GTX, and Cargo – each model has been designed to meet the demands for premium transport.

The ID. Buzz has a bold new exterior that blends a modern design with a tribute to its enduring roots.  Thoughtful details, like its friendly "eye-blink" headlights, give the vehicle a fun personality.

Both the  ID. Buzz and ID. Buzz Cargo are equipped with class-leading safety features, so you can focus on enjoying the ride. These include autonomous emergency braking, front and side assist, pedestrian and cyclist detection, blind spot monitoring, and traffic alerts.

"The ID. Buzz signals a bold step forward for Volkswagen. It’s a vehicle that embodies freedom and sustainability, designed for those who enjoy the very best in refinement, comfort and premium craftmanship.

“Our Volkswagen dealerships are now taking orders, offering a fully personalised experience, ensuring that every driver enjoys the high level of technology and features that make this a van in a class of its own," adds Richards.

The all-new ID.Buzz and ID.Buzz Cargo is set to arrive on New Zealand shores June 2025.
