VW NZ releases details of electric ID.4, ID.5
Volkswagen New Zealand has released the pricing and specs for ID.4 and ID.5 full electric vehicles that will arrive here in mid-2023.
The hatchback ID.4 Pro is priced from $79,990 and the Pro+ is $89,990 while the sleek coupé design ID.5 Pro is from $89,490 and the Pro+ is $9000 more.
VW NZ Passenger Vehicles general manager, Greg Leet, said he believed the “model line-up positions us extremely well within the EV market segment”.
“To launch the ID. product range with our mid-sized ID.4 SUV below the New Zealand government clean car rebate threshold of $80,000 was imperative. We believe this will be very important in helping to support our customers that choose to transition to an electrified Volkswagen.”
The ID.4 Pro and Pro+ both have a 77kWh (Net) battery and an approximate 485km range. Other main features include150kW of power and 310 Nm of torque (and ‘instant power’), aerodynamic 19-inch ‘Hamar’ alloy wheels, 10-inch colour touch-screen, and an ID. exclusive “Twist & Go'' ignition function.
The ID.5 Pro and ID.5 Pro + also have an approximate range of 485km. The ID.5 exclusive silhouette (coupé merged with an SUV) has been given a sporty exterior treatment with two-tone colours and inside features the 12-inch ‘Discover Max’ colour touch-screen (standard on PRO & PRO+) and Premium sound system (exclusive to PRO+). The ID.5 PRO+ also features ID. exclusive 20” ‘Drammen’ alloys.
What’s impressive is that New Zealand will be one of the first countries outside of Europe and the USA to launch the ID. range thanks to the strong relationship Leet and his team have with Germany.
The ID.4 will be at the pop-up ‘Car Store’ on Level 1 in Westfield Newmarket, now until Tuesday 4 October before it goes on a national roadshow to VW dealerships.
