“The new Volkswagen T-Roc lineup is strong, but it’s the highly anticipated baby ‘R’ that has our staff and dealerships buzzing. We know it’s going to be a hit; broadening out the T-Roc appeal and attracting a new audience with its balanced sport and style credentials paired with perfect performance,” says Greg Leet, General Manager of Volkswagen Passenger Vehicles.

“If we’ve learnt anything from the previous R launches, these won’t last long; both times saw us selling  out early arrivals, and for good reason.”

Plus it gets a host of new active safety features like Travel Assist, Emergency Assist and Automatic High Beam  Assist will also bring added safety and sophistication to an already solid performing platform.

But the R is sure to attract fans of a performance SUV.  It features a 2.0 TSI four-cylinder engine with a highly responsive turbocharger, the power in the T-Roc  R is doubled over other variants to a whopping 221kW with 400Nm of torque. This allows the driver to make use of superb power delivery across a wide range of engine speeds.

The Volkswagen DCC (Dynamic Chassis Control) system also replaces the standard suspension with an Active Damper allowing the driver to tune to different profile selections. Lastly, the 4MOTION all-wheel-drive (AWD)  system ensures excellent traction, handling, and steering response whilst constantly monitoring driving conditions.

Prices start from $41,990 for the Life, $53,490 for the R-Line while the sporty R starts from $68,990.

The first stock arrivals of the new T-Roc range are starting to arrive in dealerships now.
