In 2017 Volvo formed a partnership with Google and now in 2021 we are seeing the results with major models adopting the Android infotainment system.

Volvo Car Group is the first company to team up with Google on integrating an infotainment system powered by Android with Google apps and services built in, and the fully electric XC40 Recharge became the first Volvo car to carry the system.

The  XC60, S90, V90 and V90 Cross Country will also get the integration of Google apps, including Google Assistant which controls the temperature, destination, playing music and podcasts, and sending messages.

For the 2022 model year these models will also get Advanced Driver Assistance Systems, a modern, scalable active safety system that consists of an array of radars, cameras and ultrasonic sensors.

Volvo partnered with Google in 2017 to create the new system.
