Volkswagen Group sees dramatic increase in EVs

Volkswagen Group’s 2020 electric vehicle sales show a dramatic increase in numbers.

Electric vehicles in Western Europe comprised 10.5 per cent, which made up almost 73 per cent of worldwide electric sales.

The best selling models included the Volkswagen ID.3 (56,600), Audi e-tron (47,300), VW e Golf (41,300), Volkswagen e Up (22,000) and Porsche’s Taycan (20,000).

It’s predicted that electric vehicles could propel to 10.5 per cent of total sales in 2021. Overall vehicle sales (electric and non-electric, combined) in 2020 for the VW Group were down 15.2 percent compared with 2019.
