Tesla drops price of Model 3 in NZ
As the number of new all-electric vehicles increases in New Zealand, Tesla is fighting back with a reduction in the price of its popular Model 3 car.
The Model 3 is now priced from $71,732, a decrease of $2168 for the Standard Range Plus model.
Tesla says every Model 3 will come with as standard, Autopilot, immersive sound, plus cold-weather comfort features, just in time for our winter.
Tesla says “with free over-the-air software updates, your car will become even better over time with new features and improved functionality”.
Year to date, there have been 394 Model 3’s registered in New Zealand, with 10 sold in April.
By April 2020, there had been 157 Model 3 cars sold. The increase in sales is due to more right-hand-drive production.
The Model 3 is New Zealand’s top-selling electric vehicle with MG’s ZS EV in second spot with 178 registrations and the Hyundai Kona in third with 149 sales.
Mazda NZ has just announced details of its first all-electric car, the MX-30, while Hyundai NZ is taking preorders on its Ioniq 5.
