To celebrate 30 years of WRX, Subaru has created the special edition Todoroki model that arrives in New Zealand in November.

The Japanese kanji symbol 轟 for ‘Todoroki’ means ‘roar’ but also translates to ‘well-known’ or ‘famous’ which all adds up to this WRX exuding some serious x-factor. 

Subaru’s limited edition WRX Todoroki certainly stands out with its stunning WR Blue hue - this exclusive performance car was created to be noticed.

Priced at $64,990 RRP, only 10 of these special editions be available in New Zealand in sedan form with a six-speed manual transmission. These ten vehicles will be available exclusively in the colour WR Blue.

“The Todoroki offers the core ingredients for a WRX special edition, with 19-inch wheels, Brembo brakes, Recaro seats, a presentation box numbered from 1 to 10 and an STI-style rear spoiler. Limited to only ten units and only available in the iconic WR Blue, this is sure to be a very special limited edition.

“As an added bonus, to celebrate the Subaru WRX’s 30th anniversary, customers who manage to get their hands on one of these limited-edition vehicles will also receive an exclusive STI watch. This special keepsake can remain with the WRX Todoroki purchaser to mark the 30 years of WRX.” 

The Subaru WRX Todoroki has the famous  2.4-litre Boxer engine. It has also specifically tuned steering and suspension, including dual-pinion electric power steering, and optimising the suspension’s springs and dampers.

As a bonus it comes with a presentation key box that includes a limited-edition numbered keyring and has moulded compartments akin to a jewellery box.
