Renault New Zealand has confirmed that the Megane R.S Trophy hot hatch will be arriving this month.

Priced from $65,990 for the manual and $3000 more for the automatic, the new Megane R.S Trophy has a 1.8-litre direct injection engine producing 223kW of power and 420Nm (400 Nm in the manual) of torque. It has a top speed of 255km/h.

Renault New Zealand General Manager Sam Waller says, “The Megane R.S Trophy is a great hot hatch with many local enthusiasts. We look forward to growing our followers with this newest model which is pure driving enjoyment.”

The new Megane R.S. further refines its sporty character and boasts impressive features directly inspired by competition. F1 type blade, widened wheel arches, lateral air extractor vents, central exhaust, rear spoiler and diffuser.

Inside, it gets a sporty cockpit with a new 10.2in customisable TFT instrument cluster, R.S. custom leather steering wheel with paddle shifters, aluminium pedal unit and footrest, short gear lever, high-performance materials and finishes which, in an exclusive Carbon Grey setting, contribute to a unique driving pleasure. The sportier Recaro seats are an exclusive option for this Trophy version.

The 4CONTROL system with 4-wheel steering and hydraulic compression stops provide optimum road holding and grip. Exclusive on New Megane R.S. Trophy, the Torsen limited-slip mechanical differential and bi-material front brake discs provide unequalled performance. 

Exclusive Renault Sport technologies such as the R.S. Drive system (Sport or Race mode) launch control and R.S. Monitor, on-board telemetry which displays numerous vehicle parameters in real-time on the 9.3” EASY LINK multimedia screen, add to the driver’s experience.
