Porsche 911 Targa 4S Heritage Design

I was chatting to Liz yesterday and was proclaiming my love for the new Porsche 911 Targa 4S, which was just released globally last week.  I simply love the look.

But now world motoring news sites are flashing up pictures of the first of four classic led special editions called the Heritage Design. This is courtesy of Porsche’s Exclusive Manufaktur, its bespoke arm. And boy is this one sexy car.

With just 992 units being produced, the Heritage will cost about $50,000 more than the regular Targa, if your conversions from Pounds to New Zealand Dollars are accurate. Given the previous model Targa 4S is at $260,000, chances are this is a $320,000 plus purchase in NZ.

The Heritage Design takes design cues from the 1950’s, including the Cherry Red Paint from early 356s. Customers can specify “lollipop stickers” on the doors with numbers of their choice. Brake calipers are black and the Porsche logo font is returned to its original. Inside are gorgeous corduroy and red leather seats.

Customers are expected to be those fascinated by classic design cues but who want these mixed with modern technology.  “This is a cool style that brings back something from the past”, said Boris Apenbrink, Porsche Exclusive Manufaktur Head.

I want one!!
