Webb’s latest Collectors’ Cars, Motorcycles & Automobilia auction results saw a prestigious Porsche sell above estimate and a Ferrari still available.

Held on April 10, there were 49 lots including vintage race posters and a boat up for auction in Auckland.

The standout sale at the auction was the 1991 Porsche 911 964 'Backdate' that had an estimate between $220,000 – $240,000 but sold for $242,000 including fees.

The ‘backdate’ or ‘restomod’ was based upon a Porsche 964 C2. Inspiration was taken from Los Angeles-based Singer Vehicle Design and the singular vision of Rob Dickinson – an ex-car designer who then became a rock musician.

Another Porsche standout was a 1973 911S Targa 2.4S that had an estimate between $320,000 – $350,000 and sold for $324,500.

But still available as of Monday, April 11, is a 1982 Ferrari BB 512i that has an estimate between $550,000 – $650,000.

The Ferrari Berlinetta Boxer (BB) was first introduced in 1971 at the Turin Salon as the 365 GT4 BB. It was a major transition from the outgoing Daytona, most notably due to its mid-mounted flat-12 engine.

The 1982 Ferrari BB 512i is still available with an estimate between between $550,000 – $650,000.
