Nissan’s most technologically advanced SUV to arrive in New Zealand will be here soon, with the X-Trail e-Power with e-4ORCE delivering an EV-like drive experience without needing to plug in.

The e-POWER with e-4ORCE AWD models will join the all-new X-Trail family in early 2023, completing one of the most comprehensive SUV lineups in the country.

Designed to act as the flagship models in the X-Trail range, the e-POWER with e-4ORCE powertrain is available on the generously equipped X-Trail ST-L and Ti-L trim levels.

The electrified X-Trail range begins with the ST-L e-POWER with e-4ORCE ($62,990), followed by the top-of-the-range X-Trail Ti-L e-POWER with e-4ORCE ($66,990). Both are offered with e-4ORCE AWD and in five-seat configurations.

“With the X-Trail ST-L and Ti-L e-POWER models, luxury and efficiency arrive hand in hand, combining the best design, safety, comfort and convenience features with Nissan’s advanced electrification technology to deliver an EV-like drive experience and incredible efficiency,” says Nissan New Zealand Managing Director, Ben Hamilton.

“It’s the kind of technology you need to experience to believe, and we can’t wait for New Zealand families to climb behind the wheel.”

Unlike conventional hybrid systems, Nissan’s innovative e-POWER technology delivers a constant EV-like drive experience thanks to the driven wheels being powered only by the electric motors, so response is always instant, linear and smooth.

The X-Trail's e-POWER with e-4ORCE system is comprised of a high-output 1.8kWh battery integrated with a variable compression ratio petrol engine, power generator, inverter and twin electric motors (150kW front axle, 100kW rear axle with a combined system output of 157kW). This unique powertrain means that power to the wheels comes only from the electric motors, which results in instant, linear response to the accelerator.
