Nissan New Zealand is about to launch four new major vehicles to the market later this year with the Z sports car details just announced.

Despite industry-wide supply challenges, New Zealand production schedules are now locked in for a host of all-new models, delivering everything from scintillating sports cars to tech-laden SUVs.

The Z sports car is joined by an all-new Pathfinder, X-Trail, and Qashqai models that will all arrive in 2022, giving Nissan one of the freshest SUV line-ups in New Zealand.

“I’m thrilled to be able to confirm launch timings for these vehicles, with all four exciting and all-new models set to arrive in New Zealand in the second half of 2022,” says Nissan New Zealand Managing Director, Ben Hamilton.

“The all-new Z, Pathfinder, X-Trail, and Qashqai will join the just-updated Patrol, along with the tough and rugged Navara, to give Nissan one of the newest and most exciting model line-ups in the country.”

There will be two Z models launched in New Zealand, the Coupe and Proto which has a striking yellow interior. Prices are to be announced closer to the launch date.

Engineered by and for the driving enthusiast, the seventh-generation sports car is designed to thrill. The seductive lines of the iconic Z are matched with a driver-focused cabin complete with manual or nine-speed paddle-shift automatic transmission, rear-wheel drive and a potent twin-turbocharged V6 engine.

These enhancements improve power to weight by 13 percent over the Z’s hugely impressive predecessor and shave the acceleration time from rest to 100km/h by approximately 15 percent.

Peak power and torque rise in the new engine to 298kW and 475Nm - the latter being 31 percent higher than its predecessor - ensuring exhilarating performance in the new Nissan Z.
