The female-led international Car of the Year organisation has started 2024 with a new name that is the first step in a strategy to cover global motoring.

Women’s World Car of the Year is now official Women’s Worldwide Car of the Year and is made up exclusively of women motoring journalists from all five continents.

Women's Worldwide Car of the Year is made up of 72 professionals from 52 countries who provide qualified information on what is occurring in motoring around the world. The organisation has an impressive 500 million cross-viewership.

One of the members is AutoMuse founder, Liz Dobson, who joined it in 2022.

"It is a slight change in our name, but very important in terms of strategy because our mission is not only to choose the best cars of the year, but also to ensure there is considerable representation of women in the automotive sector", says Marta García, executive president of WWCOTY.

The Women's Worldwide Car of the Year will continue to grow in 2024, rewarding the best cars, the best initiatives and drawing attention to everything that can contribute to increasing the visibility of women in the automotive industry.

The Peugeot 308 was named the organisation’s 2022 Car of the Year, with 70 contenders for 2023 COTY. The first round of judging will be completed on January 18, with the winners in each category will be announced on January 29.

The supreme winner will be revealed on March 8 coinciding with International Women Driver Day.
