Mitsubishi Motors NZ has an unprecedented sales result for June with 2116 vehicles, beating the previous record set way back in 1985, at a time when MMNZ was manufacturing cars in Porirua.

The result was highlighted by mammoth performances across the range, with Kiwi favourites ASX  (740 units), Outlander (408 units), and Triton (569 units) all recording eye-watering registration numbers.

Reece Congdon, MMNZ Head of Marketing and Corporate Affairs, said: “These results are testament to a modern, dynamic range, perfectly in tune with current Kiwi lifestyles and budgets”.

“Undoubtedly what we are most proud of is seeing more of our vehicles on the road across the  country, and a growing number of owners joining our loyal customer base.”

MMNZ also has 280 orders placed in June for Outlander and Eclipse Cross PHEV models.

The award-winning Outlander PHEV is the long-time leader in its class, while the all-new Eclipse  Cross PHEV, built on the same second-generation drivetrain, broadens Mitsubishi’s PHEV range – particularly for drivers who want the style, value and capability of a smaller SUV without the family-sized space of the Outlander.

“The arrival of Eclipse Cross PHEV in June coincided with the government’s Clean Car Discount,  which has provided a further incentive for the increasing number of drivers for whom more sustainable transport solutions are a key consideration,” said Congdon.

“At a special launch price of $49,990, we always felt the new Eclipse Cross PHEV would  quickly join Outlander PHEV as a highly desirable option for motorists looking to reduce their fuel  bill and vehicle emissions.”
