Customers in New Zealand can now personalise their Mini with an exclusive, segment unique Multitone Roof design feature.

The new element is available for the three- or five-door hatch, including the fully electric Mini electric hatch, and can be added when the Mini Yours package is chosen.

A visual highlight of the design is the flowing gradient between the three colours, transitioning gently from dark San Marino Blue in the front section of the roof to a lighter shade, Pearly Aqua, before blending into Jet Black at the rear.

It combines with multiple body colour options to provide a statement-inducing contrast between the roof and lower body sections.

For three- and five-door hatch petrol models, it can be optioned with Pepper White, White Silver, Midnight Black, Moonwalk Grey and Island Blue.

For Mini Electric hatch, it can be matched with either White Silver, Midnight Black or Moonwalk Grey.

Availability of the Multitone Roof is thanks to adoption of an innovative painting system fully integrated in the automated production process at the Mini Plant in Oxford, UK.

The light colour Pearly Aqua is first applied, followed by San Marino Blue and finished off with Jet Black, creating the flowing colour gradient characteristic.

Slight deviations in the colour pattern occur due to changing environmental conditions, meaning each Mini with a Multitone Roof develops its own specific character.

Matt Schmidt, General Manager of Mini Australia and New Zealand, said the Multitone Roof was the ideal styling accompaniment to the brand’s model line-up.

“We know our customers love that the Mini brand gives them the ability to express their own sense of fun and character, and the unique Multitone Roof will provide them an even better opportunity to turn up the style factor.

“It is an especially eye-catching feature, especially in the sun, which is appropriate given the summer months are just around the corner.”
