Mini New Zealand has announced pricing and specification details for its 2021 hatch and convertible range, with prices starting from $43,250 for the three-door and $59,280 for the soft-top.

Mini NZ is also offering the critically-acclaimed electric hatch in a specific tiered package, allowing for a greater scope of personalisation.

The three-door, convertible and electric Mini join the five-door Countryman and Clubman in the range.

A new exterior design language frames the unmistakable appearance of the new Mini hatch and convertible in a minimalist light, making its identity bolder, clearer – and in the case of applied personalisation – more unique.

Three new colours will be introduced with the 2021 Mini Hatch and Convertible range in New Zealand: Rooftop Grey metallic, Island Blue metallic, and Zesty Yellow (the latter is only available for the Mini Convertible).

Piano Black Exterior touches (available on Cooper S and above) now extend to the door handles, side scuttles, fuel cap, Mini logos on the bonnet and luggage compartment lid, model lettering, and tailpipes of the exhaust system. The surrounds of the headlights, radiator grille, and rear lights are likewise darkened.

The range of light-alloy wheels available for the Mini has also been extensively renewed. In New Zealand, three new designs are available: 17-inch wheels Tentacle Spoke black design, 18-inch light-alloy wheels in Pulse Spoke design, with a concentric bi-colour look that creates impressive design accents, as well as John Cooper Works light-alloy wheels in Track Spoke black design.

The redesigned interior of the 2021 Mini Hatch and Convertible range in New Zealand is sophisticated, modern and packed with high-tech equipment.

Depending on the tier and model chosen, interior personalisation options start with standard cloth/leatherette interiors, and progress to luxurious Mini Yours Leather Chester upholstery as well as sporty Leather/Dinamica combinations. Piano Black, Chequered Silver or Aluminium trim options are also conveniently paired with the selected interior world for an elegant overall look.

An 8.8-inch colour touchscreen display now features touch-sensitive favourite buttons and Piano Black high-gloss surfaces. In addition, a new surface design with laser engraving updates the appearance of the LED colour-changing ring surrounding the central instrument.

The operating system is now more advanced than ever thanks to a new graphics display and updated options for selecting and controlling audio, telephone, navigation and apps on-the-go.

The screen display with symbols and white text on new colour backgrounds also features “live widgets” and can be called up by swiping the touchscreen, whereupon they are enlarged in the centre display.

A new sports leather steering wheel becomes standard across the Mini Hatch and Convertible range for 2021, with redesigned keypads that ease operation of telephone, audio and driver assistance systems. A new 5.5-inch digital LCD instrumentation screen first seen on the Mini Electric Hatch is now standard equipment across the range.
