MG Motor will set a new benchmark in the New Zealand automotive landscape by offering an industry-leading 10-year/ 250,000km warranty across its entire portfolio of new vehicles.

Previously the brand had offered an impressive seven-year warranty but adding three years will make MG a compelling option for new car buyers.

In addition, the marque has announced a price reduction of an average of $4000 across its range of electric and PHEV models, while the ZS Excite electric gets a whopping $10,0000 reduction.

The MG4 starts at $42,990 while the electric ZS EV is priced from $40,990.

The MG4 hatchback starts from $42,990 (down from $46,990) while the MG HS PHEV Excite is down from $50,990 to $44,990.

MG Motor New Zealand Chief Operating Officer, Harrie Yan, said brand confidence is a top consideration for new-car buyers and highlighted that a longer warranty period can assist with making a purchasing decision.

“If you’re looking for value and peace of mind from a new car purchase, the length and quality of the factory warranty should be as important as the horsepower,” said Yan

“We think that our new 10-year warranty for EV, PHEV, Hybrid and petrol range of vehicles is the best in the market and also reinforces trust in our cars.

Previously the brand had offered an impressive seven-year warranty.

“MG's 10-year warranty delivers unmatched peace of mind and ensures that you are fully supported on every journey.  When it comes time for our customers to upgrade their car, we want them to turn to us first as we have a wide range of great products in the market and more on their way,” said Yan.

With the introduction of a national price campaign on the MG ZS EV Excite, MG Motor Australia and New Zealand’s Chief Executive Officer, Peter Ciao, said MG is once again providing the best choice for Kiwis wanting to make the switch to EV motoring.

The MG HS PHEV is now priced from $44,990.

“MG has been leading the charge with attainable electric vehicles since the launch of the popular ZS EV as well as multi-award-winning MG4 and, with reduced pricing on our range of EV and PHEV models, we maintain our leadership position in this space,” said Ciao.

“MG is putting customers first by ensuring all motorists can access a wide range of zero-emission vehicles from a very affordable $40,990.”

Pricing is effective from August 1, 2024.
