MG Motors New Zealand has slashed prices on its fleet of cars, covering EV and hybrid models with one having retail price decreased by $5000.

The brand is set to roll out the cuts across its full HS PHEV line-up, with the $52,990 Excite and $56,990 Essence now priced from $49,990 and $55,990, respectively.

The new ZS EV Long Range is now priced from $59,990, gaining the $5000 discount.

All three models are also eligible for the Clean Car Discount rebates of $4025 for the PHEVs and $7015 for the EV.

“MG was the original champion of making electric motoring affordable for everyone with the 2020 launch of the original MG ZS EV, the first electric car to be available locally for less than $50,000,” said Arek Zywot, MG New Zealand Country Manager.

“Since then, we have introduced the HS PHEV, an updated ZS EV and a new Long Range model, as well as become the first brand to announce a sub-$40,000 post-rebate new full EV with the MG4 51kWh Excite.

“This new pricing action makes the price of a new MG ZS EV Long Range and MG HS PHEV Excite or Essence even more compelling.”

“These revisions will help provide attractive, attainable and viable options for people wanting to make the switch to zero and low emissions motoring,” said Zywot.

“Ultimately, it’s about encouraging new car buyers to make the best decision when all factors are taken into account, including fuel costs and environmental considerations, but also MG’s transferable seven years unlimited kilometre warranty, seven years roadside assistance and seven years warrant of fitness checks for each and every new model.”*

The new ZS EV Long Range boasts an impressive driving range of 440km WLTP and offers a wide array of creature comforts as standard, including driver and front passenger seat heating, panoramic glass sunroof, a 360-degree view camera, Apple CarPlay/ Android Auto and wireless phone charging.
