Mercedes-Benz NZ introduces EQB family SUV
Mercedes-Benz continues the New Zealand rollout of its Mercedes-EQ family of fully electric vehicles by introducing the family-friendly EQB.
The new Mercedes-Benz EQB follows in the footsteps of the smaller EQA SUV, which arrived in New Zealand in 2021.
The EQA has become a popular choice for Kiwi motorists keen to embrace a more sustainable lifestyle, yet without compromising on the distinctive design, luxurious appointments, and inherently sporty nature of the Mercedes-Benz passenger car range.
Now, with the addition of the EQB’s liberal extra dose of space and flexible packaging, customers can enjoy all the benefits of fully electric mobility in a vehicle capable of seating up to seven passengers if needed or reconfigure the cabin to create more than 1600L of loading capacity.
Yet the deceptively long 2829-millimetre wheelbase (+100 mm compared to EQA) underpinning this outstanding utility, plus the electric drivetrain and its lithium-ion battery, are packaged into the dimensions of a compact SUV that mirrors the EQA’s driving agility and exceptional ease to manoeuvre and park.
Utilising a single e-motor driving power directly to the front wheels, the EQB 250 drivetrain generates 140 kW of power and a healthy 385 Nm of torque. The electric SUV is capable of achieving a driving range of 371 km according to the WLTP test standard.
The Mercedes-Benz EQB 250 is priced at $99,900, in standard five-seat configuration, with a third row of seats adding $2900.
The EQB 350 4MATIC is priced at $109,900 and has a driving range is 360 km plus a combined output from the two motors of 215 kW and 520 Nm.
The EQB also joins the EQC and the EQS sedan. Arriving soon will be the EQE sedan and EQS SUV.
