Mazda New Zealand is announcing pricing for the first-ever CX-80, with the seven-seater arriving here in time for summer.

The CX-80 is the third model in New Zealand to launch from Mazda’s Large Architecture platform and includes hybrid and plug-in hybrid (PHEV) models.

The SP hybrid is priced from $74,990 and has a 3.3-litre six-cylinder petrol engine with i-Activ All-Wheel-Drive. The engine produces 209kW of power and 450Nm of torque.

The two PHEV models have a 2.5-litre 4-cylinder engine combined with an electric motor to produce 241kW/500Nm. They also have i-Activ All-Wheel-Drive.

The CX-80 is available as a hbyrid and plug-in hybrid.

The SP Plug-in Hybrid is priced from $80,990 with the top-spec Homura at $89,490.

The PHEV has a combined fuel consumption of just 1.7 l/100 km with electric motor-powered driving is up to 59km.

The hybrid has an average fuel consumption of just 8.4 l/100km.

The hybrid and PHEV have an eight-speed automatic transmission.

The two SP models have leather seat trim (electrically adjustable and with front seat heating), black metallic 20-inch alloy wheels, and LED headlights.  Gloss black exterior mirrors combined with black chrome signature wing and honeycomb front grille. The standard equipment is also the power-operated tailgate, 360 View Monitor, and Mazda’s Personalisation System.

The plug-in hybrid has a fully electric range of 59km.

The Homura is upgraded to facial recognition technology and ideal driving position recommendations.  The 360 View Monitor features Mazda’s innovative See-Through View functionality and a high-power Bose audio system offers superior sound quality in all seating positions.

A single interior trim option is available for the Mazda CX-80. Black Leather, standard for both SP and Homura grades, features titanium-coloured stitching and is paired to leather-like trim and mesh metal film inserts on the instrument panel, centre console and doors.

The CX-80 will join the CX-60 and CX-90 in dealerships in late November.
