Hyundai NZ launches first-ever Ioniq 6 EV sedan
Hyundai NZ has launched the first-ever Ioniq 6 with the EV starting from $79,990 to claim the clean car rebate.
The mid-size Ioniq 6 is the first sedan built on the Electrified-Global Modular Platform (E-GMP), which brings 800V architecture and the capability for rapid charging from 10 to 80 percent in as little as 18 minutes.
Efficiency in Ioniq 6, and a battery range of up to 614km, is achieved through advanced powertrain technology, with the benefit of numerous aerodynamic styling choices in a streamliner design – for an ultra-low aerodynamic 0.21 coefficient of drag.
The most advanced Hyundai ever, Ioniq 6 features the latest in SmartSense safety technology with a 5-star ANCAP safety rating.
“We are thrilled to introduce our first-ever Ioniq 6 as the latest addition to our Ioniq range,” Hyundai New Zealand Chief Executive Officer, Andy Sinclair said.
“Ioniq 6 showcases the Hyundai brand’s technological ambition and our commitment to developing sustainable mobility solutions while giving customers an exciting, accessible, and versatile EV,” he said.
Ioniq 6 will be offered in three variants with two battery sizes, a 53 and a 77.4 kWh, with rear-wheel drive and all-wheel drive powertrains.
The entry-level variant in the range, the Ioniq 6 Standard Range, includes a 53 kWh battery and 111 kW of power. This results in a driving range of up to 429 km. It is priced at $79,990.
The Extended Range 77.4 kWh model ($94,990) provides 168 kW and a driving range of up to 614 km. Both of these are equipped with 18in wheels and low rolling resistance tyres.
The rear-wheel drive Ioniq 6 Elite ($104,990 features a 168kW, 350Nm rear electric motor and a 77.4 kWh lithium-ion battery, which provides a range of up to 545km and is equipped with 20" alloy wheels.
The all-wheel drive Ioniq 6 Limited ($124,990) features an HTRAC all-wheel drive system comprising a 74 kW, 255Nm front motor and a 165kW, 350Nm rear motor, and a range of up to 519km.
