High flying in your own limo

If you think you’ve seen it all with a Hummer limo, then you need to check this out: a Learjet turned into a limousine.

Called the Limo-Jet, it is a one-off custom creation featuring a 17,000-watt audio system, an infinity mirror floor, and seating for 18.

It took 12 years to build, including a reported 40,000 man hours.

A real Learjet aircraft was used with a steel tube frame chassis to support the aluminium, and it rides on a pushrod suspension.

It is powered by a rear-mounted 8.1litre Chevrolet Vortec V8 engine, sits on 28in wheels and is street legal.

Though as it is an immense 12.8 metres long, 2.4m wide and 3.5m high, it’ll have to be a very wide street for it to drive on.

Instead, it comes with a Chevy Silverado pick-up for you to tow it to events.

And with its custom speakers, you could hold quite a few parties inside and out of the Limo-Jet.

The area that would normally hold the Learjet's two turbofan engines instead house a pair of gigantic speakers, which can blast jet engine sound effects while cruising down the street.

At the tail section, there are more speakers that flip down and retract flush with the body, according to Motortrend.

Inside, there is room for 18 on diamond-stitched leather bench seats, multi-colour ambient lighting, a 42-inch plasma TV, and a refreshment centre.

For the sober driver, this single bucket seat in the cockpit.

It is up for auction via Meccum’s Indy auction from June 23-28.
