David Hasselhoff is auctioning off his personal K.I.T.T. car used in his 1980s television series Knight Rider, and he’ll even deliver it to you.

The Pontiac Firebird Trans Am is similar to the K.I.T.T. car used by his character Michael Knight, but it was not used in television production, according to the auction house.

Unfortunately, this version of the does not talk.

"The sleek, black K.I.T.T. car is fully functional with the brilliantly colorful illuminated dash and console that would be immediately identifiable to Knight Rider fans," according to Diligent Auctions, which is handling the sale.

Knight Rider rang from 1982 to 1986 and featured the talking Trans Am.

Knight Rider ran from 1982 to1986, and K.I.T.T. car was so popular that Pontiac found itself swamped with customer requests for black Firebird Trans Ams with T-tops, tan interiors, and red lights on the front bumper, just like the show car.

The current bid for the car is nearly US$500,000 (NZ$700,000), exceeding the predicted estimate of US$175,000 to $300,000 (NZ$245,000-$420,000). As an added bonus, if the winning bid is 25 per cent over the reserve price, 68-year-old “Hoff'“ will personally deliver the car to the new owner.

The car is part of an auction of memorabilia of Hasselhoff that includes wardrobe, awards, scripts, toys, and autographed items from his acting career. The auction ends on January 23.

David “Hoff” Hassellhoff will personally deliver his car to the auction winner.
