Ferrari unveils its ‘cheapest’ model, the Portofino M
Ferrari’s entry-level car, the Portofino, has been upgraded with a more powerful, re-engineered performance variant.
The Portofino M (meanting Modificata, used by the brand to designate an evolution in performance) includes a host of technical enhancements over the standard model. It gets more power from V8, new eight-speed gearbox over a seven-speed, and claims of better handling.
Ferrari New Zealand told AutoMuse that it was still waiting to hear what the price will be for the Portofino M, but the standard model is NZ$427,900.
The Portofina gets the new twin-turbo 3.9-litre, V8 engine that produces 456kW of power and 760Nm of torque, going from 0-100km in 3.4 seconds with a top speed of 320km/h.
Externally, the new model has been lightly redesigned over the standard Portofino. Changes are focused on the front end, with a new bumper design for a “sportier and more aggressive” look.
The four seater grand tourer spider premiere took place online. The build-up to the unveiling included the sending out of a series of newsletters to clients over recent weeks at the end of which they were given access to a platform containing exclusive videos illustrating the concept behind the car, its restyling and main technical contents.
Deliveries are due to commence in mid-2021.
