BMW NZ has announced the pricing and details of the all-new BMW 2 Series coupé, which was revealed at the Goodwood Festival of Speed earlier this year.

The 2 Series coupé will be offered exclusively in its top form, the M240i xDrive, which is priced from $104,900 and will arrive in New Zealand at the end of 2021.

The model starts a new chapter in the long and rich history of sport-focused compact models that began 55 years ago with the legendary BMW 02.

The new BMW 2 Series coupé also offers a premium cabin ambiance.

Components and technology sourced from the new BMW 4 Series have been used in the new 2 Series coupé. For the first time in the 2 Series, BMW’s advanced xDrive all-wheel-drive system is paired to a BMW TwinPower Turbo six-cylinder engine for outstanding all-weather usability.

The 3-litre six-cylinder in-line TwinPower Turbo engine of the BMW M240i xDrive delivers maximum output of 285kW, 35kW more than the engine in its predecessor. Peak torque is 500Nm, helping the car accelerate from 0 to 100 km/h in just 4.3 seconds.

The new BMW 2 Series coupé also offers a premium cabin ambiance and cutting-edge innovations in the areas of operation and connectivity.

Peak torque is 500Nm, helping the car accelerate from 0 to 100 km/h in just 4.3 seconds.

Advances made over the predecessor model are also reflected in the availability of a wider range of sophisticated driver assistance systems.

The new compact sports model has a length of 4537mm and a width of 1838mm, an increase of  105mm and 64mm over the corresponding measurements of the predecessor model.

However, the new car stands 28mm lower, with a vehicle height of just 1390mm.
