The next-generation Outlander is now available for Kiwis to pre-order online, in response to what Mitsubishi Motors New Zealand has described as “a mountain of customer enquiries”.

This opportunity is the first of its kind from Mitsubishi Motors New Zealand (MMNZ)  and follows news of the company’s record-breaking sales figures in June – a phenomenal 2116 units.

“We are on an unprecedented winning streak right now and interest in the next-generation Outlander, which was teased to the market late last year, has resulted in even greater demand than we expected,” said Reece Congdon, MMNZ Head of Marketing & Corporate Affairs.

“We have received a mountain of customer enquiries and requests to pre-order – so much so that we have decided to give those customers the chance to secure the most stylish and advanced Outlander yet.

“With interest so high, and early shipments limited, we hope this helps avoid disappointment for those eager to be the first to experience the next generation of this iconic SUV.”

Customers are being invited to pay a $500 online deposit to secure their new Outlander. The team at MMNZ will then work with the customer's preferred Mitsubishi Motors dealer to facilitate the completion of the order; the deposit is fully refundable should the customer change their mind. 

Congdon described the new generation Outlander as “our best yet by a country mile – and we fully expect the first shipment to sell out quickly”.

Built on an entirely new platform, the completely redesigned exterior hosts a wealth of interior and technology upgrades, shared across three 2WD and three 4WD models.

The prices start at $41,990 +ORC for the five-seat entry-level 2WD LS up to $54,990 for the 4WD VRX.                          

The VRX is kitted out with black (or, for an additional $1000, grey) leather upholstery across all seven seats, with eight-way power adjustment and memory function for the driver and passenger. Luxury appointments continue with a panoramic sunroof, kick tailgate, 12.3-inch digital driver display, and Bose sound system, alongside additional safety features such as a Multi-Around Monitor with Moving Object Detection.

“We're excited to get our hands on the first models arriving Into the country later this year, and it seems Kiwis are too,” said Congdon.
